CREW FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions about Crew
Why would I want to join crew?
I can’t believe you even would ask such a question. Of course you would want to join crew. Where else would you get to play with $100,000 of equipment while promoting the truth of abstinence and Jesus Christ?
What are the prequalifications for being on Crew?
1. Be a God-follower and agree with SRSC’s statement of faith
2. 8th grade through college
3. Desire to reach your peers with the truth of abstinence and Jesus Christ
Why do you make Crew agree to a statement of faith?
While we are an interdenominational ministry, we believe that there are absolute truths that all followers of God need to adhere to if they believe the Bible to be true. By looking at our statement of faith you will see that we are not forcing anyone to side with certain interpretations or non-essential doctrines. If anyone has any questions or concerns with our Statement of Faith we are more than happy to discuss that with them. Our Statement of Faith is not to force our views, but to celebrate what we know to be true about God, and the truths that unify us as His followers.

Silver Ring South Carolina
Statement of Faith
The following statement of faith is affirmed by all
Silver Ring South Carolina staff and Board members.
We believe…
God has revealed Himself to be eternally existent in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – yet is one God.
We believe…
The Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant written record of God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is absolute in its authority,
complete in its revelation and final in its content.
We believe…
Jesus Christ was fully God and fully man. We believe in the truth of His words, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His substitutionary death, His atonement through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to Heaven and His future return.
We believe…
Mankind was created in the image of God and fell into sin. Consequently, all people are born spiritually dead – separated
from God – and destined for eternal judgment.
We believe…
Salvation is only by God’s grace through faith in Jesus Christ and not through works. Those who receive Christ by faith have their sins forgiven, are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, are made new
creatures in Christ, and become children of God.
We believe…
Christians are to glorify God by living in the power of the Holy Spirit. This enables the believer to live a life of godliness and good works.

How do I join crew?
Joining Crew is simple. Just simply come to one of our day long training events and we will let you know all that you need to know. We spend most of the day going through a great series that helps us understand how God designed us and then we talk about all the different ways that you can be involved. Once you have been through the training, you just help out at all of the shows that you are able to, depending on your schedule. The cost of this day of training is $20 and that covers all the materials, a t-shirt, a lanyard, and lunch (It’s a pretty sweet deal).
What do we do for new crew training?
The first is spiritual. Because we know that the most important thing for each of us is Christ, we want to make sure that they understand what God says about them as individuals, purity, dating, and relationships. We take them through a video series on the Song of Solomon. The study we use is by Tommy Nelson and his material can be viewed online at www.tommynelson.com if you would like to check it out. We also encourage accountability, personal growth, and being plugged into a local church body. We do not want to replace the church or the home in any way. We want to come alongside and encourage them.
When is the next New Crew Training?
We offer New Crew Trainings about every 3 or 4 months. Call our office at 803.799.0886 or email info@silverringthingsc.com to get the dates of our next training.
Does Crew do anything besides shows?
I’m glad that you asked. Throughout the year we have get togethers for the crew. These times range from just for fun times to times that we train on the equipment or learn more about God’s plan for our lives and how we can reach our peers for Christ.

If I want to be on stage (speaking, EmCeeing, skits), what do I need to do?
When you come to training, you will fill out a card telling us what you would like to be involved in. If you are interested in being on stage that will require some extra practices and time at the office, but we will work with your schedule so that it can be done. Keep in mind that just because you want to be on stage does not guarantee that you will be able to be there, but if you are teachable and have the talent we will seek to find you a place.
How do I “sign up” for individual shows?
Communication, Communication, Communication. In all things, communicate, we are pretty cool people, but we can’t read your minds. It is your responsibility to contact us and keep us up to date on what you are able to do. E-mail is our main way of communicating with you. If that does not work for you, let us know. Also, our website always has the most current list of events. As soon as you know you are able to make an event, e-mail or call us and let us know what you would like to do for the show. The longer you wait, the less likely that you will be able to help in the area that you want to.
What if I can only come to part of the day for the show?
If you have a prior commitment and can’t meet at the office to get to the show but want to still try and make it to the event to help contact the office to see if we can arrange it. If at all possible, meeting and being picked up at the office is the easiest and most fun way to roll.
What if I am signed up for the show, but something comes up and I can’t make it?
Let us know ASAP! Your part in the show is vital, whatever you are doing. When you commit to doing a job at a show, we depend on you being there. If you aren’t, there is a job that doesn’t get done, which hurt the event or makes someone have to do two jobs. So if something comes up and there is no way that you can make it, call us right away so we can make arrangements for someone else to fill your spot.
As a crew member do I have to go to every show?
We would love for all crew to come to every event, but we understand that you have school, sports, church and other activities that may conflict with some of our shows. Some crew are able to make it to the majority of our shows, while others can only make it to a couple each season. You are not required to attend a certain amount, but naturally the more you come to the more you will be able to do and the cooler you will be.
How do we get to the shows?
We meet at the office (the time is e-mailed out, as it changes each show) and ride together in a van to the event and then meet back at the office after the event.
What does a normal show day look like for Crew?
(this is how an average show looks for an in-town show)
9:00am - Load up and leave from SRT office
10:00am - Arrive, Unload, and Set-up
12:00pm - Lunch
12:45pm - Continue to set-up (Merch, Truss, Tech, etc.)
3:00pm - Do run-through of the show
4:15pm - Host volunteers arrive to be trained
4:30-5:00pm - Dinner

6:00-9:00pm - Silver Ring Thing Show

What is the difference between being on Crew and being on the Traveling Team?
All crew can attend local shows (those shows that do not require an overnight stay). In order to be a part of the traveling team (to attend those shows that require overnight accommodations) you need to meet the qualifications and fill out a traveling team application. Contact the office for more information.
