Here’s what parents are saying about
Silver Ring Thing…
Thanks so much for the information you shared at the parent's meeting in Powdersville Saturday night. It was very enlightening! I have a thirteen year old son in 7th grade. We were surprised on the ride back home to find out that both of our sons knew about "rainbow parties" as well as all of the other things that were discussed in the parent meeting. My son said that he was surprised that I was "cool" about everything. I told him that it is OK to share what he knows with me - that just because he "knows" about things that doesn't mean that I think he is doing it. As a matter of fact, I told him that I am glad that he knows what's going on in the world so that he can be prepared when he is faced with them. Thanks again for the info and for helping to open the lines of communication.
God Bless, Jane
My daughter and I really enjoyed the Silver Ring Thing event last Saturday night. I appreciate your devoting so much time and energy to this important cause. I appreciate your candidness with the parents .I learned a lot and am shocked that I was so ignorant of the sexual activities that these young people are involved in. Thank you again for making such an awesome effort to help our vulnerable young people.

Dr. Stands, Thank you for your leadership in establishing The Silver Ring Thing in SC. My husband has been in youth ministry for 24 years and he was VERY IMPRESSED with the information presented and the way it was presented to the youth. We had given my daugher a silver band when she turned 13 to wear to remind her to stay sexually pure. Jessie is now 17 and her ring was all bent up so she got a new ring that night in Chapin. She loves the e-mails that she receives. Keep up the good work. Louanne
