Promo Materials
Timing
You should obtain your promotional materials from Silver Ring South Carolina 6 weeks before your Silver Ring Thing event date.
- Posters should go up in churches, community buildings, youth centers, schools, etc. at least 1 month before event.
- You should begin being distributing promotional Tickets at least 3 weeks prior to the event. Students in youth groups and churches should be encouraged to take four or five extra tickets and invite their un-churched friends.
- Promotional Bulletins should be placed in church bulletins around the community the two consecutive Sundays prior to event. Contact the pastor of each church to get approval.
Distribution
A large amount of promotional material is printed in order to make sure everyone in the community can be informed. Be CREATIVE & STRATEGIC!!!
- Youth pastors should be the front-line of attack, informing their students about the upcoming event. Encourage these youth pastors to challenge their students to bring their un-churched friends.
- Contact local school officials and request permission to advertise within the school. Students should be encouraged to hand out tickets at least one week prior to the event.
- There are enough tickets to go around. Distribute them at concerts, coffee shops, youth gatherings, movies, etc.. Get students who are excited about the program to help out. Ownership creates enthusiasm!!
Tips to Remember
- We want to reach the maximum number of students/parents that the venue can hold
- We want to reach every student in South Carolina
- Invite parents to come – a parent's seminar will be held at 6:00 for 30-45 minutes and then they will be able to go into the student program. This event provides a great bridge for parents to be able to go home and address some of the tough issues with their own student.
